Edible emotions in the form of gherkins, sausage, and French fries: Artist Charlotte Adam knows how to convey powerful emotions through simple motifs in her works. “Food is not only essential for human survival, but also carries great symbolic power. Beyond mere sustenance and as a source of pleasure, food culture also represents identity, rituals, creativity, care, power, communication, and social status,” says Adam.
She’s struck a chord: the editions celebrating the joy of eating that the Berlin-based artist creates sell out in the blink of an eye, and her still lifes grace the covers of highly anticipated books. For her collaboration with KPM Berlin , she showcases the currywurst bowls from the KURLAND collection with two designs—the bowl’s base is adorned, alongside her signature cucumber, with happy French fries and content-looking sausages. And because everything comes to an end—except for the sausage, which has two—there’s another love message on the “ back ”: “I like Dish” and “I need Dish” are written there—a play on words right up our alley.
The KURLAND currywurst bowls from the “Eating Emotions” edition are limited to the year 2025.
