To mark the 200th anniversary of the Museum Island, the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin is reissuing the figure Amazon on horseback based on the bronze sculpture by Louis Tuaillon, which stands in the Colonnade Courtyard of the Museum Island. The Royal Marbre Noir edition is limited to 10 pieces.
The sculpture with the original name Amazon on Horseback by the Berlin artist Louis Tuaillon was created in Rome between 1890 and 1895. Originally around 85 centimetres high, the sculpture was exhibited at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition in 1895 and purchased for the National Gallery in 1896. It is considered the artist's masterpiece.

Kaiser Wilhelm II. himself commissioned a larger-than-life version of the Amazon. version of the Amazon, which still stands on Museum Island today. This makes her one of only three original works of art in the colonnade courtyard that still still preserved today. Another larger-than-life cast of the statue can also be found in Berlin's Tiergarten, not far from the present-day factory site.
