The name of KPM Berlin's ZEN bowls refers to the Japanese philosophy of Zen Buddhism. As with the KPM URBINO series, the Berlin manufactory's designers were inspired by the calming beauty of Far Eastern porcelain. With a volume of 2.6 liters, the bowl 4 is the largest vessel in the four-part series and is ideal as a salad bowl.

Trude Petri designed the URBINO collection in 1931. Its clarity and aesthetics, created by consistent omission, are based on the most balanced of all shapes: the circle. The Upper Italian Renaissance and the Italian city of Urbino, which gave the collection its name, also provided inspiration. The special thinness of the pieces conveys a graceful lightness that supports everyday enjoyment.
