The name of the ZEN bowls from KPM Berlin refers to the Japanese philosophy of Zen Buddhism. As with the KPM URBINO series, the Berlin manufactory's designers were inspired by the calming beauty of Far Eastern porcelain. With a volume of 2.6 liters, the bowl 4 is the largest vessel in the four-part series and is ideal as a salad bowl.

In 1931, Trude Petri designed the URBINO collection. Its clarity and aesthetics, created through consistent omission, are based on the most balanced of all forms: the circle. Inspiration was also provided by the Upper Italian Renaissance and the Italian city of Urbino as the namesake of the collection. The special thinness of the pieces conveys a delicate lightness that supports everyday enjoyment.
