With its asymmetrically curved contours, the salt shaker from the URBINO series by KPM Berlin adds a playful accent to the geometric design language of the URBINO dinner service. Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin also offers a matching pepper shaker and a vinegar and oil bottle. With their free design, the four pieces of the URBINO menu, which Trude Petri created twenty years after the presentation of the original design, reflect the optimistic mood of the 1950s.

Trude Petri designed the URBINO collection in 1931. Its clarity and aesthetics, created by consistent omission, are based on the most balanced of all shapes: the circle. The Upper Italian Renaissance and the Italian city of Urbino, which gave the collection its name, also provided inspiration. The special thinness of the pieces conveys a graceful lightness that supports everyday enjoyment.
