In 1931, Trude Petri designed the URBINO collection. Its clarity and aesthetics, created through consistent omission, are based on the most balanced of all forms: the circle. Inspiration was also provided by the Upper Italian Renaissance and the Italian city of Urbino as the namesake of the collection. Inspired by the rimless ceramic plates of the Italian Renaissance and the elegance of East Asian porcelain art, Trude Petri created a service with clear, balanced proportions, whose bowl-shaped plates, bowls and cups are consistently developed from circular and spherical shapes.
