The shoebill owes its name to the shape of its beak, which appears not only exceptionally long but also particularly wide and deep. This unique African swamp bird was immortalized in porcelain in 1994 by Marek Lipowski at the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin. The plumage, decorated in light blue tones, was faithfully recreated by the painters of the Berlin manufactory. In addition to this version, the shoebill is also available in white.
