DETAILED RE-EDITION
VENUS & MERCURY

With Venus and Mercury, the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin presents a detailed re- edition of historical model designs that brings the royal legacy of the house into the present day. Implemented in porcelain in 1780 by KPM modeler Johann Georg Müller, they are reminiscent of marble figures that served as a symbol of the friendship between King Louis XV. and King Frederick II grace the gardens of Sanssouci.

As a gift from the French King Louis XV. In honor of Frederick the Great, the original marble figures found their place in Sanssouci Park in 1752. Frederick the Great was thrilled and thanked the French king. In the detailed re-edition of the KPM model workshop, a perfect illusion of black marble with elegant polished gold accents is created using the manufactory's master painting using elaborate hand painting techniques.
