The modern interpretation of the iconic Sandman, created by Gerhard Behrendt for GDR television in 1959, was redesigned by KPM head designer Thomas Wenzel for the 65th anniversary and combines traditional craftsmanship with nostalgic radiance. Every single Sandman is handmade in our manufactory in Tiergarten and hand-painted with polished platinum in the KPM Berlin master painting workshop and individually numbered by hand. The perfect combination of two renowned Berlin cultural treasures.
