The modern interpretation of the iconic Sandman, created by Gerhard Behrendt in 1959 for East German television, was redesigned by KPM chief designer Thomas Wenzel for its 65th birthday and combines traditional craftsmanship with nostalgic charm. Each individual Sandman is handmade in our factory in Tiergarten, hand-painted with glossy platinum in the master painting studio of KPM Berlin, and individually numbered by hand. The perfect combination of two renowned Berlin cultural treasures.
The Platinum Edition is limited to 66 pieces and is available for 1,980 euros in KPM Berlin stores throughout Germany and in the KPM Berlin online store.
