Benoît François is a French, multidisciplinary artist. Porcelain has always been on the list of materials that particularly appealed to him, which is why he has now redesigned a KPM salt and pepper set for the second time in cooperation with SZ Magazine. After the successful debut of the limited-edition shakers in spring 2022, this time Benoît is re-labeling the mills in the LAB collection. Two hand flatterers that are so formally similar that “you can hardly tell in the dark whether you are holding salt or pepper in your hand.”

The spice mill set “NOT SALT, NOT PEPPER” is limited to 100 sets.

In addition to classic illustrations, Benoît François also deals with visual art as well as animations and installations. One of his videos was shown as part of an exhibition at London's Tate Gallery of Modern Art. In 2022, he created a video animation for Hermès to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

His illustrations have appeared in, among others, Vogue, the New York Times, the Paris Review and of course in the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin.
