Trude Petri designed the small URBINO sugar bowl and the matching small URBINO creamer for the URBINO mocha service, which KPM Berlin introduced in 1947. In doing so, she consistently continued her successful design classic from 1931: just like the famous URBINO dinner service, all later additions were developed from the basic geometric shapes of the circle and sphere - right down to the smallest detail: the spherical lid knob.

In 1931, Trude Petri designed the URBINO collection. Its clarity and aesthetics, created through consistent omission, are based on the most balanced of all forms: the circle. Inspiration was also provided by the Upper Italian Renaissance and the Italian city of Urbino as the namesake of the collection. The special thinness of the pieces conveys a delicate lightness that supports everyday enjoyment.
