With URBINO, the young designer Trude Petri created a milestone in tableware at the beginning of her thirty-year career at the Berlin Porcelain Manufactory ( Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur , KPM). The elegant functionality of the forms—derived from circles and spheres—is as relevant today as it was when they were first created in 1931. The coffee pot from the KPM URBINO service reflects the full genius of the design. The slender teardrop shape of the pot is seamlessly continued in the lid and is crowned by a spherical knob. With a capacity of 1.2 liters, the large coffee pot from KPM Berlin’s URBINO service is sufficient for up to ten URBINO coffee cups or five URBINO breakfast mugs.
A hand-drawn, delicate black frame in the Canto design accentuates the minimalist circular form that underpins the aesthetic of Trude Petri’s URBINO collection, allowing its balanced silhouette to be experienced anew on the table.
