URBINO coffee pot

With URBINO, the young designer Trude Petri created a milestone in tableware at the beginning of her thirty-year career at the Berlin Porcelain Manufactory ( Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur , KPM). The elegant functionality of the forms—derived from circles and spheres—is as relevant today as it was when they were first created in 1931. The coffee pot from the KPM URBINO service reflects the full genius of the design. The slender teardrop shape of the pot is seamlessly continued in the lid and is crowned by a spherical knob. With a capacity of 1.2 liters, the large coffee pot from KPM Berlin’s URBINO service is sufficient for up to ten URBINO coffee cups or five URBINO breakfast mugs. The gently curved forms of the URBINO collection are accentuated in Decoration 11 by a minimalist motif of genuine glossy platinum. A band, drawn by a skilled hand, wraps around the circular pieces of the collection, making plates, bowls, and cups shine with unique stylistic confidence.
