History
Designer: Thomas Wenzel
Year: 2022
Material: Porcelain
The Stuttgart artist Reiner Xaver Sedelmeier inspired KPM head designer Thomas Wenzel to create a collaboration in which everyday design meets high-quality porcelain. The decor was inspired by industrial protective plates. The result was a jug, cup and vases made of biscuit porcelain in cylindrical form, which were given the typical elliptical shapes of metal. The industrial derivation inspired KPM head designer Thomas Wenzel and defined the shape: "Tear plate is normally rolled, so the starting point was quickly to take the cylinder or, in other words, the tube as the shape."
