LAB Mug No. 1B

The “ cup ” from the LAB series are considered true all-arounders in this collection—developed by KPM Chief Designer Thomas Wenzel and inspired by the laboratory porcelain produced in the past—which is characterized by its clean aesthetics and functionality. With a capacity of 250 ml, the “ cup ” No. 1B is ideally suited for use as a delicate teacup, and its weight of just 126 g ensures it sits perfectly in the hand. Like the other “ cup ” pieces in the series, the combination of glossy, smooth glazed porcelain in the upper half and matte “ biscuit porcelain ” in the lower half makes the “ cup ” 1B a true delight to hold. The clear, minimalist, almost openwork “Enso” rim decoration breaks with the tradition of the classic, uniform colored rim. In Japanese calligraphy, “Enso” signifies enlightenment and elegance, strength and harmony. It depicts a brushstroke applied richly and thickly in a single movement, gradually losing intensity as it flows. This form inspired the “ decor ” Enso, which adds original accents to the LAB collection and the dining table in a variety of colors.
