Product Information

The archives of the “ KPM Berlin ” hold treasures from the manufactory’s more than 250-year history. Porcelain pieces as well as painting templates and studies are preserved there and meticulously maintained. Over the centuries, artists and designers have left their mark on the “ KPM Berlin ,” offering a cornucopia of inspiration that continues to this day. The limited-edition 2022 Atelier Edition is the result of reissuing, adapting, and further developing some of these treasures from the KPM archive. Classic KPM vases from various stylistic eras serve as the formal backdrop.
The inspiration for the “ decor ” MÄANDER was the “ decor ” block stripes designed by Luise-Charlotte Koch in 1955. KPM Chief Designer Thomas Wenzel, designer Sarah Bräuner, and master painter Astrid Schulz further developed the color scheme and dynamically adapted the vertical color fields to the objects.
A defining feature of the decor MÄANDER is the rhythmic division of the surfaces on the organic vase forms by vertically meandering black bands of varying line thicknesses. The graphic bands are contrasted with vibrant areas in pastel colors featuring a clearly recognizable brushstroke, which underscore the handcrafted nature of these unique pieces. Together, the bands and areas form an irregular network that spans the body of the vase.

Care

To preserve the beauty of KPM Berlin ’s delicate porcelain for generations to come, we recommend handling it with care and gentleness. Use a soft, dry cloth or a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from the porcelain.

If the porcelain is heavily soiled, you can clean it with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Use a soft cloth and avoid applying pressure to delicate details. Then rinse the porcelain with clean water and dry it gently.
