History

designer: Siegmund Schütz year: 1938 material: porcelain

Each of the precious ARKADIA medallions tells a story from the world of ancient legends. Trude Petri's neoclassical form, created in 1938, provides the ideal stage for the appearances of Cupid, Demeter and Pan, Dolphin and Leo, Shell and Pan Flute - the variety of motifs and ideas seems limitless. Siegmund Schütz modeled the filigree reliefs from biscuit porcelain. The marble-like texture of the material allows the fine contours to stand out strikingly in the interplay of light and shadow and brings fabulous moments to the laid table.

Product description

The beautifully shaped round sugar bowl from the KPM ARKADIA service is the perfect addition to your tea or coffee service. The relief medallion in delicate biscuit porcelain depicts the god of love: Cupid with a bow. KPM porcelain is still made by hand at its historic Berlin location.

On the festively laid table, the individual pieces of ARKADIA merge into a multi-layered saga. The design of this service from KPM Berlin is cylindrical or conical. The collaboration between the two artists Petri and Schütz at the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin resulted in ARKADIA - a fruitful combination of feminine grace and masculine expressiveness. This porcelain tells its own story.
