Created by Marguerite Friedlaender-Wildenhain during the heyday of the Bauhaus in 1930, the HALLE vase group represents the ceramic craftsmanship tradition of the Bauhaus years. The designer's early design is characterized by its clear lines, strict proportions and the harmonious fusion of sphere and cone in the shape of the vase. Its individual components are composed in a balanced way and became unmistakable design features of the Bauhaus period. Photo: © Archive Burg Giebichenstein - University of Art and Design Halle

The KPM Berlin archive contains treasures from the manufactory's more than 250-year history. Porcelain designs as well as painting templates and studies are guarded and meticulously maintained there. Over the centuries, artists and designers have left their footprints at KPM Berlin and continue to offer a cornucopia of inspiration to the present day. The limited Atelier Edition 2022 is the result of reissuing, adapting and further developing some of these treasures from the KPM archive. KPM vase classics from different stylistic periods serve as the formal stage.
The BÄNDER decor was inspired by Ernst Böhm from 1928. In typical style, Böhm developed the matching decor for a square vase he designed. For the Atelier Edition 2022, it was adapted to Friedlaender's HALLE vase in new color variations.
Behind the seemingly simple decoration is a great deal of detailed work. Two painting marks can be seen on the underside of each vase. Annette Rother and Stefanie Hammes produce the colored ribbons in blue, purple or green. The delicate golden rings are added by Claudia Felgendreher.
