Product Information

“Introspectus” is the result of a collaboration between three style-conscious partners: KPM Berlin, Zeloot and the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin. The Dutch illustrator Eline van Dam, alias Zeloot, inspires with her colorful, humorous, strange and at the same time ingenious illustrations. Her work as an artist began in the basement of an old school building, where all kinds of experimental events regularly took place, for which she illustrated posters and works and printed them independently. She also designed children's books. In the meantime, her works can be found regularly on the covers of relevant media such as the SZ-Magazin, Die Zeit and the New York Times.

In October 2018, Zeloot presented her illustrations for the first time on the CADRE vase, an absolute design classic from KPM Berlin, as part of a SZ-Magazin collaboration. The artist has interpreted the vases from the KPM CADRE series as faces. Faces that reflect the emotions, memories and thoughts that a person harbors within them. Incidentally, Zeloot's favorite flower is the blue thistle, for her "the punk among flowers". What she particularly likes about it is that its blue is both warm and cool at the same time. And she thinks the blue thistle would look good in any CADRE.

The Cadre Introspectus Edition is a vase strictly limited to 9 pieces, featuring a glossy platinum finish. The finish is applied to the mirrored surface, making the vase appear even more vibrant than its colors alone already do.

Care

To ensure that you can enjoy the delicate, masterfully hand-painted designs for a lifetime, we recommend handling them with care. The painted porcelain is generally dishwasher-safe; however, it is best to wash it by hand on a regular basis to prevent the colors from fading due to overly frequent machine washing over an extended period of time.

History
Designer: Trude Petri
Year: 1967
Material: Porcelain
The Cadre is the last design developed by Trude Petri for KPM Berlin; its entry in the model book from 1967 is still listed under the name “Vase Tee.” This is because the Cadre design was originally developed Cadre 1945 as a tea canister with a lid for the URBINO service. Starting in 1984, the vase was referred to as “Quadre” in reference to its shape; today, it is simply calledCadre.”
