Product Information

Serve culinary delights—both small and large—on the small oval URBINO “platter ” plate, crafted from the finest porcelain by the Royal Porcelain Manufactory of Berlin. Inspired by the “flagless” plates of the Northern Italian Renaissance, the collection bears the name of Urbino, the Italian city famous for its ceramic workshops. The gently curved shapes of the URBINO collection are accentuated in the “ decor 11” by minimalist trim made of genuine glossy platinum. A band, hand-drawn by skilled artisans, wraps around the circular pieces of the collection, making the plates, bowls, and cups shine with unique stylistic confidence.

Care

To ensure that you can enjoy the delicate, masterfully hand-painted designs for a lifetime, we recommend handling them with care. The painted porcelain is generally dishwasher-safe; however, it is best to wash it by hand on a regular basis to prevent the colors from fading due to overly frequent machine washing over an extended period of time.

Due to the metallic finishes—24k gold or glossy platinum—the porcelain is not suitable for use in the microwave.

History

Designer: Trude Petri

Year: 1931

Material: Porcelain

In 1931, Trude Petri designed the URBINO collection. Its clarity and aesthetics, created through consistent omission, are based on the most balanced of all forms: the circle. Inspiration was also provided by the Upper Italian Renaissance and the Italian city of Urbino as the namesake of the collection. The special thinness of the pieces conveys a delicate lightness that supports everyday enjoyment.

Gift wrapping

Have your porcelain gift-wrapped in royal blue paper with an elegant white bow. To do so, add "Gift Wrapping" to your selection in the shopping cart.

You can also include a greeting card with your order, which we can handwrite with your personal message upon request.
