A colorful twist on a classic design: Berlin-based interior designer Gisbert Pöppler created the Édition Quartolet for KPM—four Löber bowls in trendy colors that the designer himself describes as “quirky, exciting, and a lot of fun.”
The bowls were originally designed in 1929 by Wilhelm Löber. Pöppler, a long-time fan of the simple design, has now applied his color-driven approach to interior design to porcelain. “The color scheme celebrates the design’s form; the strategically placed orange on all four bowls highlights elements that are otherwise rather inconspicuous, such as the rim and base.” The bowls are conceived as pairs—two color combinations, each with the colors reversed. Yet even as standalone pieces, they possess radiance and dynamism. The four Löber bowls in the Édition Quartolet series are each limited to 25 pieces.
Gisbert Pöppler is an internationally acclaimed interior designer with projects ranging from London to the Eifel region. Together with his Berlin-based team, he designs spaces and furniture that are considered avant-garde throughout Germany in terms of style, form, and color.
