Commissioned by Peter von Biron, Duke of Kurland, a series in strict classicist form was created in Berlin around 1790 in line with the new aesthetic, which was to become the icon of the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin: KURLAND. Its shape pays homage to the ideals and design of the ancient world.
