The squatting and standing hares were designed by Johannes Henke in 1971. Both figures have a naturalistic form and correspond to natural proportions.

Whether " squatting " or standing: With the Tiergarten Rabbit, KPM’s master painters give the naturalistic “ figure ” a new look—with brown fur that has been applied to the porcelain, handcrafted at the Tiergarten factory, with great attention to detail and precise craftsmanship by our master painters. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, so the decor shown may vary slightly from your order. You’ll always find the individual initials of the painter responsible beneath the rabbit. Did you know that a hare consists of up to 6 parts? Whether it’s an ear or a paw, each part is cast individually and then hand-applied to the rabbit. A process that requires a great deal of skill and finesse.
