The " figure " (CHINESE WOMAN with Parrot), part of Adolph Amberg’s so-called "Wedding Procession," has been produced by KPM-Berlin since 1910. The design, " figure ," dates back to 1904: at that time, a " decor " was being sought for the wedding banquet of the Prussian heir to the throne, Wilhelm, and Cecilie von Mecklenburg-Schwerin in 1905. In 1907, KPM’s artistic director, Theodor Schmuz-Baudiß, purchased the design, which was subsequently rendered in porcelain. The “Wedding Procession” originally consisted of the bride and groom and 18 additional figures representing various continents and cultures.
