Siegmund Schütz designed the box to commemorate the 200th anniversary of KPM in 1963, though it originally featured a medallion depicting Frederick e II. The medallion depicting the Reichstag was not created until later as part of the KPM “studio ” and has adorned the lid of the box since 2008.
