History

designer: Thomas Wenzel year: 2013 material: porcelain

An interplay of light and shadow, smooth surfaces and velvety texture: the beauty of KURLAND BLANC NOUVEAU can be experienced with closed eyes and is a sensual delight in pure white or refined with exclusive hand-painting. To mark the 250th anniversary of the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, head designer Thomas Wenzel created the collection and brought the iconic KURLAND, which has existed since 1790, to life in a new way: the glaze is removed by hand to bring out the relief to perfection.

Product description

The small salad bowl from the KURLAND Blanc Nouveau service by KPM Berlin presents itself with corners and edges. The bowl in the shape of a classic octagon complements the other pieces in the KURLAND Blanc Nouveau family with another attractive shape.

The KURLAND Blanc Nouveau service, created to mark the 250th anniversary of the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, comprises 20 pieces. The classic KURLAND canon of shapes ranges from conical to round and oval to octagonal. This reflects the design ideal of antiquity, which came to new life in the stylistic epoch of classicism.
