Product Information

The Royal Porcelain Manufactory and the Berlin City Palace have a common history. The palace has always served as the Hohenzollerns' main residence. Frederick the Great was born in the Berlin City Palace in 1712. He himself founded the Berlin porcelain manufactory KPM in 1763, and the two institutions are also linked: Karl Frederick Schinkel designed parts of the Berlin Palace as well as various designs for the capital's manufactory. KPM Berlin is presenting an exclusive edition that shows the image of the historic building in gold. The pieces in the edition are ideal capital city souvenirs and authentic ambassadors of their city, HANDMADE IN BERLIN.

Care

To ensure that you can enjoy the delicate, masterfully hand-painted designs for a lifetime, we recommend handling them with care. The painted porcelain is generally dishwasher-safe; however, it is best to wash it by hand on a regular basis to prevent the colors from fading due to overly frequent machine washing over an extended period of time.

Due to the metallic finishes—24k gold or glossy platinum—the porcelain is not suitable for use in the microwave.

History
Designer: Enzo Mari
Year: 1996
Material: Porcelain
The BERLIN collection achieves what only the city that lends its name to this unconventional design can: creating something beautiful from the symbiosis of contradictions. Developed in 1996 by the Italian designer Enzo Mari in collaboration with the designers at KPM Berlin, it harmoniously combines opposites, just as its designer once did.
