History

designer: Siegmund Schütz year: 1938 material: Porzellan

Each of the precious ARKADIA medallions tells a story from the world of ancient legends. Trude Petri's neoclassical form, created in 1938, provides the ideal stage for the appearances of Cupid, Demeter and Pan, dolphin and lion, shell and panpipe - the variety of motifs and ideas seems limitless. Siegmund Schütz modeled the filigree reliefs from biscuit porcelain. The marble-like texture of the material allows the fine contours to stand out in the interplay of light and shadow and brings fabulous moments to the table.

Product description

The generous 32 cm plate from ARKADIA offers plenty of space for exquisite dishes. Pegasos, the winged horse from Greek mythology, is depicted on the biscuit porcelain medallion. The charger plate from the KPM Berlin range can also be used as a large dinner plate if required. The elegant ARKADIA service was developed to mark the 175th anniversary of the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin. The interplay of light and shadow on the KPM porcelain gives this service series its unique charm. The matt biscuit porcelain of the fabulous relief medallions contrasts with the glossy surface of the purist form.
