LAB
2015

The minimalist, technical design language of the LAB series is inspired by the KPM Berlin laboratory porcelain of the 20th century and was consistently developed further for the modern kitchen laboratory by chief designer Thomas Wenzel. The multifunctional line of versatile pieces such as bowls, cups and plates impresses with its timeless design and exceptional feel. All members of the constantly growing LAB family can be recognized by the chrome green stamp and the lettering “BERLIN”. The green color was previously used to identify KPM Berlin's laboratory porcelain and, then as now, stands for design, handmade in Berlin.

Every piece in the KPM Individual series is unique in the truest sense. As a present, it has embodied the highest personal appreciation for over 250 years. The KPM master painting individualizes almost every KPM favorite piece with initials, an elegant name or a personal message. In this way, perfected craftsmanship and artistic master painting are combined. An ideal gift for unique occasions such as births, christenings and weddings or simply as a special piece for your own collection.

Thomas Wenzel heads the artistic development department at KPM Berlin. In addition to his work as a designer, innovative decor and production techniques that meet the challenges of modern table culture are an important focus of his work. The KURLAND BLANC NOUVEAU collection, which was introduced in 2013 to mark the manufactory's 250th anniversary, also goes back to Wenzel's development work. In addition to the current LAB series, Wenzel's more recent designs include the multi-award-winning KPM coffee filter and the KURLAND to-go cup.
