With the "Blue Moon" vase, limited to 100 pieces, the Canadian artist combines traditional porcelain craftsmanship with contemporary art. Dzama is characterized by his unmistakable visual language, which is characterized by fairytale motifs, folkloristic elements as well as art historical and contemporary influences. In addition to his well-known ink and watercolor works, Dzama has also created films.
The Canadian now transports his mystical, fairytale-like painting onto the LAB Vase KOLBENFORM conical from KPM Berlin, thereby simultaneously creating a monument to the beginnings of film. The central motif of the vase - a mysterious moon - is a homage to Georges Méliès' iconic film "Journey to the Moon" from 1902. Dzama thus builds an artistic bridge between fantasy, reality and the dream world - a recurring theme in his work.
