BERLIN
1996

The collection BERLIN collection succeeds in doing what only the city that gave its name to this unconventional design can do: creating something beautiful from the symbiosis of contradictions. It combines tradition and innovation, classic form and new accents. The convex-concave interplay of the plate flags and the reproduction of the perfect spherical shape in the pot and lid handle in contrast to the characteristic inverted handle demonstrate the compatibility of opposites, just as its designer, the Italian Enzo Mari, once did. Developed by Mari in 1996 in collaboration with the designers at KPM Berlin, the series is characterized by its functional character, which earned it the "iF Design Award". Gone are the days of firmly defined shapes and standards on the table - the collection offers as much creative freedom as its namesake, the city of Berlin.

BERLIN

SIMPLE PLATINUM STAFFAGE - DECOR 11

A delicate line of real shiny platinum, drawn by a practiced hand with a brush, lends the BERLIN collection in pattern 11 a touch of luxury. The shimmering silver band frames the perfect shape of the plates, cups and bowls and unites them as an understated, luminous ensemble on tables and dining tables.

COLORS OF BERLIN

The COLORS OF BERLIN mugs tell of the connection between the porcelain manufactory and its home city. Whether green like the Tiergarten, blue like the lakes of Köpenick, sandy colors like the popular beach in Wannsee or anthracite like the fashionable Mitte district - the BERLIN mug designed by Enzo Mari appears in shimmering luster colors as a tribute to the urban manufactory district. They are as multifaceted as the metropolis itself, where they are still passionately handmade by KPM Berlin today.

Each piece in the KPM Individual series is unique in the truest sense of the word. As a gift, it has embodied the highest personal esteem for over 250 years. The KPM Master Painters individualize almost every KPM favorite piece with initials, an elegant name or a personal message. In this way, perfected craftsmanship and artistic master painting are combined. An ideal gift for unique occasions such as births, christenings and weddings or simply as a special piece for your own collection.

Enzo Mari is one of the most intellectual and influential international designers of the second half of the 20th century. In collaboration with the KPM workshop and today's head designer Thomas Wenzel, Mari revolutionized production processes and design guidelines and created a collection of vases and today's design classic BERLIN between 1993 and 1996.
