History

client: Peter von Biron, Duke of Kurland year: 1790 material: porcelain

Commissioned by Peter von Biron, Duke of Kurland, a series in strict classicist form was created in Berlin around 1790 in line with the new aesthetic, which was to become the icon of the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin: KURLAND. Its shape pays homage to the ideals and design of the ancient world. Objectivity, austerity and symmetry combine to create a noble, cohesive and timeless form - probably the most important porcelain collection of classicism.

Product description

The bowl for "multi-course" menus. Thanks to its capacity of 1.0 liter and an airtight plastic lid, the porcelain lunch box is perfect for moments of indulgence on the go or for elegant food storage in the fridge at home.

To go, please! With the new KURLAND To-go box as a sustainable extension to the KURLAND To-go cup, breakfast, lunch and dinner can now be transported in style. Ideal for take-away during the lunch break or a quick after-work snack, the bowl is also a long-awaited addition to the KURLAND collection.

Designed by KPM head designer Thomas Wenzel, who also designed the iconic To-go mug, the box now also shows that the classicist KURLAND relief made of cloth hangings, egg sticks and pearls is a timeless classic - naturally made by hand at the historic manufactory site in Berlin-Tiergarten.

Note: The transportation of liquids is not recommended. The lid must be removed before use in the oven and microwave. The To-go Box is dishwasher-safe.

The KURLAND To-go Box is also available as a set with the KURLAND To-go Mug.
