The KPM+ Edition by artist Anna Haifisch is expanding to include a LAB cup Duo Set No. 1—presented by SZ Magazin.
Frederick the Great had two great loves: porcelain and dogs. With this second KPM+ Edition, artist and comic book illustrator Anna Haifisch shines a spotlight on Frederick’s whippet, Biche, and his sister Wilhelmine of Prussia’s miniature spaniel, Folichon. The so-called “dog letters” were written in May 1748. On behalf of his greyhound Biche, the King of Prussia penned heart-wrenching messages to the little dwarf spaniel Folichon. Wilhelmine replied on Folichon’s behalf (“the little madman”) with lines full of longing.
Anna Haifisch brings this eccentric pen-pal friendship and the deep sibling love to life with her characteristic humor on the LAB cup No. 1. Biche and Folichon—true to their status as pampered royal darlings—snuggle up in a drawn blue outline beneath soft blankets and on fluffy pillows against a white background.
NOTE: In keeping with the artist’s vision, the designs for this edition were applied by KPM’s master painters using a handcrafted screen-printing process, making them very durable and dishwasher-safe.
