URANIA

URANIA is the porcelain embodiment of the idea that perfection is achieved only when nothing more can be omitted. The collection’s design is not satisfied with anything less than this absolute aesthetic. It exemplifies the demand for a functional aesthetic established by the German Werkbund and the Bauhaus at the beginning of the 20th century. Based on the ARKADIA form, the Berlin porcelain manufactory produced a understated variant without relief decoration in 1987: URANIA was born. Freed from all decor, the form comes into its own in pure, clear white with an inimitable sense of perfection.

SIMPLE PLATINUM DECORATION

The clean design of the URANIA collection is enhanced by the " decor " 11 technique, which evokes minimalist hand-painting. The use of genuine, brush-applied glossy platinum adds that special touch to the understated design.

TRUDE PETRI

Trude Petribegan working as a designer for the Berlin Porcelain Manufactory in 1929. In keeping with the aesthetic principles of her time, her work focused on the union of form and function. Fascinated by the perfection of this union, she developed the URBINO collection in 1931, which is still regarded today as a flawless example of consummate design.
