KURLAND BLANC NOUVEAU
2013

Beauty in the play of light and shadow. Attractive contrasts of smooth surface and velvety texture. KURLAND BLANC NOUVEAU can be experienced with your eyes closed and becomes a sensual pleasure in pure white or with a color finish. In 2013, the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin created the collection to mark its 250th anniversary and makes the iconic KURLAND relief noticeable in a new way: In order to bring out the relief to the highest perfection, the glaze is removed from it using a fine bristle brush. The smooth firing makes the contrast between matt bisque and high-gloss glaze porcelain visibly stand out and creates a unique aesthetic.

The contrast of shiny glazed porcelain surfaces with matt reliefs made of bisque porcelain creates a visually and tactilely rich experience. The contrasting play of textures of smoothness and velvety becomes all the more attractive in the delicate versions of the BLANC NOUVEAU PASTEL range from gentle blue to apricot.

Every piece in the KPM Individual series is unique in the truest sense. As a present, it has embodied the highest personal appreciation for over 250 years. The KPM master painting individualizes almost every KPM favorite piece with initials, an elegant name or a personal message. In this way, perfected craftsmanship and artistic master painting are combined. An ideal gift for unique occasions such as births, christenings and weddings or simply as a special piece for your own collection.

Thomas Wenzel heads the artistic development department at KPM Berlin. In addition to his work as a designer, innovative decor and production techniques that meet the challenges of modern table culture are an important focus of his work. The KURLAND BLANC NOUVEAU collection, which was introduced in 2013 to mark the manufactory's 250th anniversary, also goes back to Wenzel's development work. In addition to the current LAB series, Wenzel's more recent designs include the multi-award-winning KPM coffee filter and the KURLAND to-go cup.
