A CREATIVE ENCOUNTER WITH HISTORY
For the past ten years, KPM Berlin and the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin have been collaborating to connect international artists with the manufactory’s artisanal craftsmanship. To mark this anniversary, French artist Jean Jullien is bringing his humorous, comic-style drawings to porcelain for the second time. At the same time, the BERLIN collection from Enzo Mari is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

For “Porcelain Zoo,” Jean Jullien brings two of his distinctive animal motifs to the BERLIN espresso cup. The octopus and cat add charming, playful accents with their black line drawings. The motifs are transferred to the handcrafted porcelain pieces using a hand-printing process at KPM Berlin’s master painting workshop.

A DESIGN CLASSIC REIMAGINED
To mark the 30th anniversary of the BERLIN collection by Enzo Mari , KPM Berlin has carried forward the designer’s aesthetic vision and released an espresso cup in a radically minimalist form without a handle. Jean Jullien reinterprets this design classic with subtle irony, combining minimalist design with striking illustrations.

Jean Jullien, a French graphic artist and illustrator based in Paris, is known for his humorous, comic-style drawings. With “Porcelain Zoo,” he brings his distinctive visual style to porcelain for the second time, combining contemporary art with the craftsmanship of KPM Berlin.
