EDITION D.100 & D.100 PLATIN
KPM Berlin is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus in Dessau with the Edition D.100. The “ aviator cup ,” designed by Marguerite Friedlaender, features a geometric “ decor ” in black, which chief designer Thomas Wenzel developed as a nod to the HALLE Vase B100.
Originally created as a design study in the 1930s, the “ aviator cup ” was reissued to mark the 260th anniversary of the “ KPM Berlin .” Today, it ranks among the manufactory’s most popular designs and, like almost no other object, embodies the Bauhaus principle of “form follows function”: the cup and “ saucer ” fit together perfectly, forming a duo that is both slip-resistant and stable.
The striking black " decor " lends the historic form a graphic presence and emphasizes its architectural character. The Edition D.100 is available in small and large versions.
In the Edition D.100 Platinum, the graphic Bauhaus-decor , meets a hand-stamped platinum saucer. The combination of clean geometry and masterful craftsmanship adds a special touch and reinterprets the “ aviator cup ” in a unique way.
