Trude Petri's neoclassical forms, made in 1938, provide ideal stages for the appearances of Cupid, Demeter and Pan, dolphin and Leo, shell and panpipe - the variety of motifs and ideas seems limitless. Together they form the myth of Arcadia, the paradisiacal place of happiness. Siegmund Schütz modeled the filigree reliefs from biscuit porcelain. The marble-like texture of the material allows the fine contours to stand out strikingly in the interplay of light and shadow.
