KURLAND BLANC NOUVEAU
2013

Beauty in the interplay of light and shadow. Charming contrasts of smooth surface and velvety texture. KURLAND BLANC NOUVEAU can be experienced with closed eyes and becomes a sensual pleasure in pure white or with a color finish. In 2013, the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin created the collection to mark its 250th anniversary and make the iconic KURLAND relief tangible in a new way: to bring out the relief to perfection, it is freed from the glaze with a fine bristle brush. The smooth firing allows the contrast between the matt Biscuit and high-gloss glaze porcelain to stand out and creates a unique aesthetic.

The contrast between glossy glazed porcelain surfaces and matt biscuit porcelain reliefs creates a visually and haptically rich experience. The contrasting textures of smoothness and velvety in the delicate variations of the BLANC NOUVEAU PASTELL range, from soft blue to apricot, are all the more appealing.

Each piece in the KPM Individual series is unique in the truest sense of the word. As a gift, it has embodied the highest personal esteem for over 250 years. The KPM Master Painters individualize almost every KPM favorite piece with initials, an elegant name or a personal message. In this way, perfected craftsmanship and artistic master painting are combined. An ideal gift for unique occasions such as births, christenings and weddings or simply as a special piece for your own collection.

Thomas Wenzel is head of the artistic development department at KPM Berlin. In addition to his work as a designer, innovative décor and production techniques that meet the challenges of modern tableware are an important focus of his work. The KURLAND BLANC NOUVEAU collection, which was launched in 2013 to mark the manufactory's 250th anniversary, can also be traced back to Wenzel's development work. In addition to the current LAB series, Wenzel's more recent designs include the multi-award-winning KPM coffee filter and the KURLAND To-go mug.
