In 2013, the Royal Porcelain Manufactory created this collection to mark its 250th anniversary, bringing the iconic KURLAND relief to life in a new way: To bring out the relief to the highest degree of perfection, the glaze is removed using a fine bristle brush. The smooth firing process makes the contrast between Biscuit matte Biscuit and the high-gloss glazed porcelain stand out clearly, creating a unique aesthetic.

Thomas Wenzel heads the artistic development department at KPM Berlin. In addition to his work as a designer, innovative decor manufacturing techniques that address the challenges of modern tableware culture are a key focus of his work. The KURLAND BLANC NOUVEAU collection, launched in 2013 to mark the manufactory’s 250th anniversary, is also the result of Wenzel’s development work. Wenzel’s more recent designs include the current LAB series, the multi-award-winning KPM coffee filter, and the KURLAND To-go cup.
