URBINO Dessert plate, small

With a diameter of 17 centimetres, the small dessert plate from the URBINO service by KPM Berlin is not only suitable for cakes, pastries or desserts, but also for a side salad. It harmonizes perfectly with the coffee or tea cups from the URBINO series. The color gradient of the CORSO decoration, which flows from the center to the outside and is implemented in inglaze color, allows the reduced form to be experienced in a new way, which corresponds to the aesthetics of the collection.

History

designer: Trude Petri year: 1931 material: Porzellan

In 1931, Trude Petri designed the URBINO collection. Its clarity and aesthetics, created through consistent omission, are based on the most balanced of all forms: the circle. Inspiration was also provided by the Upper Italian Renaissance and the Italian city of Urbino as the namesake of the collection. The special thinness of the pieces conveys a delicate lightness that supports everyday enjoyment.
