Each of the precious ARKADIA medallions tells a story from the ancient world of legends. Trude Petri's neoclassical form, created in 1938, provides the ideal stage for the appearances of Amor, Demeter and Pan, dolphin and Leo, shell and panpipe – the variety of motifs and ideas seems limitless. Siegmund Schütz modeled the delicate reliefs from biscuit porcelain. The marble-like texture of the material allows the fine contours to stand out in the play of light and shadow and brings legendary moments to the set table.

Inspired by the motifs, KPM Berlin asked Trude Petri to design a matching service just a few years later - and ARKADIA was born.
