"No way!" - Some of you will remember grandma's excited outcry when it came to the porcelain question: Can the good service go in the dishwasher or not? All hand-washers can breathe a sigh of relief, because the following applies to the younger KPM porcelain: It can, albeit with exceptions!
THE PORCELAIN QUESTION: DISHWASHER YES OR NO?
But grandma was once right to protest. Because old porcelain didn't have to withstand a machine - they didn't even exist yet. That's why there is a risk that decorations on older porcelain in particular can sometimes fade - even if they are cleaned on gentle programs at a low temperature.
This applies to hand-painted porcelain anyway, where the color is on the glaze and is therefore even more sensitive. For this reason , decorated KPM porcelain should always be cleaned by hand.
White KPM porcelain is generally dishwasher-safe. However, porcelain figurines, souvenirs, vases, gift items and accessories should generally be washed by hand.
But despite the guarantee and seal, using the machine is not completely safe. Although the material itself is not affected by temperature or detergent, most porcelain damage actually occurs when loading and unloading the dishwasher. The proverbial mother of all porcelain boxes is therefore particularly important here: Be careful!
