KPM Berlin , Sawade, and EINSTEIN KAFFEE are all established, time-honored brands known for exceptional quality and handcrafted indulgence—handmade in Berlin. Far beyond the capital’s borders, they have established themselves as experts in everyday luxury and moments of refined indulgence. Spanning over 500 square meters in the commercial building constructed by Hans Geber in 1956—and most recently used as a salon by celebrity hairstylist Udo Walz—these three metropolitan brands present authentic products from the heart of the city.
THREE BRANDS FROM BERLIN
KPM Berlin , a porcelain manufacturer founded in 1763, continues to this day to craft and hand-paint porcelain to the highest standards and with the greatest passion at its historic manufacturing site right next to the Tiergarten. As one of the city’s oldest companies still in operation today and an expert in fine tableware, KPM is very familiar with the exquisite products of the truffle and praline manufacturer Sawade.
Sawade, Berlin's oldest praline manufacturer, was founded in 1880 "Unter den Linden" in the center of Berlin. The first store for fine homemade pralines, confectionery and chocolates was opened on Berlin's magnificent boulevard in house no. 18. Sawade quickly became court confectioner to Prince George of Prussia and the Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. Until the war, aristocratic circles and other social classes ordered the sweet temptations in Berlin.
EINSTEIN KAFFEE has seen itself as a modern coffee house chain for over 40 years, anchored in Italian and Viennese coffee culture. Excellent coffee quality from its own roasting, regional dishes and a high-quality interior characterize the concept. At Kurfürstendamm 32, you will be served the entire range of coffee specialties and varieties from their own roastery.
SOME HIGHLIGHTS OF THE KPM PAVILION
For KPM’s new store on Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm, the Welter manufactory created unique three-dimensional wall panels made of porcelain powder, chalk, and glue. Individual elements of the kitchen in the new store—which showcases KPM’s latest product line, KPM Berlin, KPM LAB—are finished in celadon. This beautiful color is a pale gray-green, which the KPM Berlin also used to decorate porcelain pieces from the 1930s through the 1980s.
