A DAY IN THE LIFE OF...
...Michelle Sosna. At 23, she is the youngest employee in the company's painting department. In an interview with WEISS Magazine No.2, she reveals why Michelle Sosna enjoys the daily challenge of working with brushes and paint so much.
Ms. Sosna, why did you decide to pursue a career at KPM?
I had wanted to learn a creative profession for a long time. After leaving school, I came across Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin and was lucky enough to find that they were looking for new apprentices at the time.
What are your highlights during the working day?
In any case, one thing is to have the finished painted and fired piece of porcelain in front of me.
And what are the particular challenges?
Making a good paint color and also every new technique and subject area that I learn about during my training.
What do you associate with KPM and what significance does the traditional house have for you?
For me, the manufactory means above all turning my hobby into a profession.
Which area of the company would you like to work in for a day and why?
I recently had the opportunity to get to know the production department. I would love to spend another day in the marketing department to get an overall impression of KPM as a company and to see how much work goes into it.
