The champagne cups are part of one of the most popular collections of KPM Berlin and can be supplemented as desired with other Kurland pieces. The noble champagne cups exemplify the great success of the Kurland collection. Because they skillfully combine tradition and modernity, so that the hand-painted champagne cups with their noble gold rim inspire every connoisseur - whether at the apéritif or at dinner. The Kurland collection testifies to the traditional history of the Royal Porcelain Manufactory, as in 1790 it was commissioned by Peter Biron Duke of Kurland to design and produce a magnificent dinner service. Influenced by its classicist background of origin, the KURLAND collection is thus influenced by antique stylistic forms. Thus, at the end of the 18th century, the Berlin manufactory produced a service in a strictly classicistic form, which was named "Service mit antiquer Kanthe". It was not until the 19th century that the shape was renamed "KURLAND" as a tribute to its patron.
