The Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin (KPM Berlin) is the oldest artisan business in Berlin still in production today. Since its foundation by Frederick the Great in 1763, the manufactory has stood for handmade luxury, style-defining design and enduring values. It has collected important treasures and relics of lasting value in its archive.

The Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin Foundation is dedicated to the preservation, promotion and further development of this historic, cultural heritage of the porcelain manufactory as a unique Berlin cultural asset.

The vacant position of Manager (f/m/d) Guided Tours / Exhibitions and PR includes a variety of tasks focusing on the planning, coordination and implementation of guided tours and exhibitions as well as public relations. It requires both organizational and communication skills.

THE TASKS INCLUDE IN PARTICULAR

Supervision of exhibition areas of the KPM world of experience

  • Planning and coordination of guided tours
  • Monitoring and maintenance of the KPM exhibition rooms
  • Collaboration with curators / the exhibition team to integrate current exhibitions into the guided tours
  • Ensuring that information materials are up-to-date and accessible for visitors
  • Responsibility for budget planning and monitoring in the context of guided tours & exhibitions

 

Contact for events on the KPM premises

  • Contact person for external events in the implementation of events; internal coordination with other departments
  • Internal and external catering porcelain support (interim)

 

Public relations and marketing

  • Development and implementation of marketing measures to promote guided tours
  • Creation of advertising materials, press releases and social media content
  • Maintaining and expanding contacts with journalists, media and relevant stakeholders

THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES DISTINGUISH YOU

 

  • Service mentality and strong communication skills: experience in looking after visitors and ability to communicate with different interest groups (e.g. curators, visitors, media)
  • Organizational talent and detail orientation: the ability to plan and coordinate guided tours and events, ensuring that information material is up to date and taking responsibility for inventories
  • Budget and cost management: experience in budget planning and monitoring
  • Event management: Practice in dealing with external organizers and coordination with internal departments, e.g. for events and catering
  • Marketing skills: Experience in public relations and marketing, including creating promotional materials and social media content and maintaining media contacts
  • IT skills: Confident handling of MS Office
  • Interest in art and culture: Ideally an affinity for historical and cultural topics, especially in the field of art or ceramics, in order to be able to competently convey the contents of the KPM world of experience
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a team: willingness to work with different teams and departments and adapt to the dynamic demands of an exhibition and event environment
