ARCADIA

Each of the precious ARKADIA medallions tells an episode from the ancient world of legends. Trude Petri's neoclassical forms, created in 1938, offer ideal stages for the performances of Cupid, Demeter and Pan, dolphin and lion, shell and pan flute - the variety of motifs and ideas seems limitless. Together they form the myth of Arcadia, the paradisiacal place of happiness. Siegmund Schütz modeled the delicate reliefs from bisque porcelain. The marble-like texture of the material allows the fine contours to stand out in the play of light and shadow.
