Even today, every single item of KPM Berlin porcelain is created by hand right in the heart of the capital city. The historic manufactory is the oldest craft enterprise still producing in Berlin. If you feel like switching off from your everyday routine and doing something really creative, sharing a special experience with your friends or organising an exclusive team event, then we might have just what you’re looking for.
At our KPM DIY-Manufactory, which has been the main attraction of the KPM exhibition since summer 2017, you will learn everything there is to know about the manufacture of our porcelain, from the raw clay to the finished cup, and get a glimpse behind the scenes at the KPM Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (Royal Porcelain Manufactory) in Berlin. It is an opportunity for visitors – adults and children alike – to become clay makers in their own right and to gain fascinating insights into the art of porcelain production
Generally all workshops are supervised by long-serving KPM clay makers or painters. Your very personal KPM piece is fired and glazed on our premises and can be picked up a few weeks after your visit. If you paint a plate, you can even take it away with you and fire it in your own home oven. Book a workshop with us and enjoy your own very special manufactory experience!

Become a manufacturer yourself and get to know the secrets of making porcelain. In various workshops, you will learn how the porcelain clay is transformed into a cup shape and how the handle is attached, or the speed with which the professionals work to accurately cut out the pattern of a BERLIN tealight.
Let your child get a taste of what it’s like working in a craft environment. Our DIY- workshop will help to develop creativity and an enquiring mind. Our children’s workshops are aimed at youngsters in the 6 to 17 age bracket. There is a choice of workshops which differ mainly in terms of how long they last. Parents can meanwhile visit the exhibition, relax in our café or browse and shop in our flagship store.
If you would like to share the experience with your friends or family, why not purchase vouchers for them? Write to us and let us know which workshop or guided tour you would like to purchase a voucher for. We will then post you the voucher together with our invoice.
Please note that we are currently only able to offer workshops led by German-speaking instructors. In the case of groups for whom German is not the first language, we are able to book a guide who will assist and translate during the workshop session.
